What is the difference between white gold and normal gold?

I hear people talk about white gold and gold with reference to jewelry, is there really anything such as white gold and how is it made.

1. There is no such thing as "white gold". Gold (Au) is an element with its natural color of bright yellow or the distinct "gold" color. What I know white gold is high quality silver, no Au component
2. White golds look way brighter then silver but its semi the same color. Gold is yellow. White gold has more chemicals in it and Is more expensive. White gold is shinier then yellow gold too. Normal old is something worn more ofen. Whte god is rare and takes a longer time to be made.

I was once told that the color difference had something to do with the amount of copper in the gold - but I really don't know. Best to check online...

It has a white tone. like palladium, platinum, silver or steel. It takes an expert to distinguish white gold and these other metals listed. There are also rose (pink), red, green, grey and blue gold. They have different mixtures of metals in them.
