What is the difference between gold and silver black diamond hockey cards?
My boyfriend just recently started collecting hockey cards, and has been buying the Black Diamond cards by Upper Deck. We're just curious as to what the difference is between the Gold and the Silver cards. If anyone could be of any help with this, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

- I'm a long time MODERN collector, so I know all about the black diamond set. The difference is Print Run. Now I know what all the BD parallels look like, so by gold I assume you mean that ones that only have a /10 print run. Meaning there are only 10 in the world, rather than the regular looking cards that you normally find. Here's my Email: Chris-Baker@live.ca Feel free to email me a scan of the front and back of the card(s) in question and I can give you a FOR SURE estimate of what they are, and what their print runs are if they have one. I can't be sure with my first answer because "gold" is a vague description these days when dealing with cards.
- The major difference is the gold card is generally a short print version with the silver being a less valuable enhanced version or even the base version. That makes the "book value" of the gold version higher because it is more difficult to obtain. So of course if you can build a complete set of gold cards you should have a fairly well valued set (in theory...this often depends on how many were in a set run and how many of each gold version were printed).
- simply put- gold diamond is worth more
